Pittenweem

PittenweemPittenweem is now the most active of the fishing ports in the East Neuk coast of Fife. Fishing boats jostle for position in its busy harbour and this is a lively vibrant place at any time of day. To add to the atmosphere, visitors can watch the fish market conducted in the sheds on the harbour from 8.00am each morning.  Pittenweem has a wealth of pubs, excellent award-winning restaurants all within a 2 mile radius.  There is also the famous Pittenweem Art Festival over 2 week period at the start of August.  Pittenweem is also an excellent base as its close to Elie, St Andrews, Crail, Anstruther and many other little villages and its an hour away from Edinburgh just over the Forth Road Bridge.
